Can ChatGPT & Co. find your company?
Enter your website’s address. In about 20 seconds we check whether anything technical stands in the way when ChatGPT, Google or Copilot try to read your site – with a traffic light per point, instantly and without sign-up.
How to read the traffic light
- Green: nothing stands in the way here.
- Yellow: works, but could be better – or a hint you should check yourself.
- Red: this demonstrably keeps search engines or AI assistants out.
- Grey: we couldn’t check this from the outside.
What the check can – and can’t – do
No tool can guarantee that ChatGPT, Google or other assistants will mention your company. Which companies an AI recommends depends mostly on what the web says about you.
This check covers the prerequisites: whether crawlers may read your site, whether they find anything there, and whether the key facts are available as text. If something blocks that, nothing else helps much.
Frequently asked questions
What exactly is checked?
Your robots.txt (whether search and AI crawlers such as OAI-SearchBot, Googlebot or Bingbot are blocked), whether your server treats an AI crawler differently from a browser, how much text is readable without JavaScript, whether phone number and address appear as text, whether structured company data is present, and the basics: HTTPS, page title, description, sitemap and “noindex”.
Do I need an llms.txt or special AI markup?
No. Google states explicitly that AI Overviews and AI Mode require no new machine-readable files, AI text files or special schema markup. That’s why we don’t check for them.
Should I block GPTBot?
That’s your call. According to OpenAI, GPTBot collects content for training AI models. Whether you appear in ChatGPT search is decided by a different crawler, OAI-SearchBot. Both can be controlled separately, so we rate a GPTBot block as neutral.
Why is the server block yellow at most?
We fetch your site once like a browser and once with OAI-SearchBot’s user agent. Firewalls also recognise real crawlers by their IP address, though – our request doesn’t come from OpenAI and may be rejected precisely as a fake bot. A block is therefore a hint to check, not proof.
What happens to my data?
We use the address you enter only for the check and keep the result in memory for ten minutes at most. We only need your email address for the detailed report. Details are in our privacy policy.
